When you hear someone say, “Life can change in an instant,” believe it! My world was turned upside down not once, but three times in the last decade. Once when we lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, next when I lost my mother 3 years later to pancreatic cancer, and lastly when my youngest daughter and I were hit by a drunk driver. In every instance my life changed dramatically. The impact of losing everything in Hurricane Katrina didn’t compare to losing my best friend in my mother, but the biggest blow came when I lost my greatest passion in life – teaching. In just a short span of 10 years my life took on a different “normal” ….
